Models to involve consumers into food production
Background: Community supported agriculture, regional brands, technological tracking of production, internet platforms, alternative food networks of different kinds try to change the way consumers relate to food production. A multiplicity of new initiatives exist in the context all of which change the contractual and governance relations between members of the food system.
Aim: This work aims to provide an overview of current initiatives, understanding the ways they restructure governance from a food system perspective and compare their performance and effectiveness. Cases from different parts of the world including Europe and Germany are of interest.
