Policies favoring producer organizations?
Background: As part of changing power relations in the value chain the EU and member states promote producer organizations (e.g. cooperatives) of different kinds. The hope is that disadvantages that farmers experience can be addressed that way. Various policy measures are adopted in this regard. This work is to provide an overview of the policies and further it is to assess their effectiveness. Also, a comparative approach across member states may be of great interest.
Aim: To describe, explain and evaluate policies on producer organisations in the EU and member states.
