The effect of smallholder farming on the environment?

Background: It is disputed what role smallholders can play for farming and its sustainability and what role income has. This work aims to review the literature on these questions and see where we stand in terms of knowledge on these questions.

Aim: To undertake a structured, systematic literature review on the role of smallholders for sustainability of farming.
