Presenting an approach to analyzing the impact of intersectionality on mobility options.

At the ARL congress "Zukunftsfähig Mobil!" in Leipzig, Alena Fischer and Franziska Henkel presented the development of a concept for the quantitative analysis of the effects of intersectionality (and thus multiple discrimination) on people's mobility options (e.g. influence on cycling abilities, car ownership or driving license ownership). The goal of the analysis approach developed in the Social2Mobility II research project is to consider diverse mobility needs and barriers in transportation planning in order to enable more diversity-responsive transportation planning. The presentation was rounded off with results of the exemplary application of the concept to a municipality in the Hannover region and the derivation of target group-specific measures to promote mobility and social participation.
