Project description

As part of the UKS_digi funding project of the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education (StIL), the sub-project "The virtual construction site - DiviBAU" is currently being worked on at the University of Kassel. Based on the completed BMBF third-party funded projects DaviD and DigiBau, in which the University of Kassel was initially responsible for the technical implementation and programming of the building structure, the focus here is on the 3D model of a virtual construction site, which visually represents the various completion phases for a two-family house with the most important necessary construction site elements step by step. Starting from the "green field", the shell of a virtual two-family house is built step by step. Central core elements of a construction site are, for example, adherence to the contract deadlines (deadlines), the calculated construction costs (costs), setting up the construction site including the equipment (construction site equipment) and compliance with occupational safety regulations (occupational safety). An associated wiki system, which was also created in the third-party funded DaviD project, links the selectable construction site elements with a technical background and is intended to provide the user with a multi-layered overview of the construction process of a new building with the most important construction site-related elements. The aim is to deepen the lecture content by means of specific tasks through independent development of the solution using the wiki system. An accompanying evaluation should contribute to an optimization of the offer, raise awareness of occupational safety and create a better understanding of the practical interrelationships on a construction site. The system is designed in such a way that other sub-disciplines of civil engineering (structural design, solid construction, etc.) could be included in the future.
