AEP – Empirische Planungsforschung

Die 'Arbeitsgruppe Empirische Planungsforschung' (AEP) ist die Forschungseinrichtung des Fachgebietes Stadt- und Regionalsoziologie. Insofern stehen die funktionalen Zusammenhänge zwischen Stadt und Land im Kontext der Region im Zentrum deren Arbeiten. Die kulturell geformte Auseinandersetzung der Menschen mit ihrer materiellen und natürlichen Umwelt, wie auch der Austausch zwischen den sozialen Gruppen, geprägt durch gesellschaftspolitische Rahmenbedingungen, bestimmen den Forschungsansatz. Forschungsgegenstand sind sowohl die gesellschaftlichen Grundlagen der Planungsprozesse als auch deren Evaluation.

The 'Institute for Empirical Research of Planning Issues' is the research facility of the field Urban and Regional Sociology. The functional contexts between city and country are thus in the centre of its work. The culturally shaped confrontation of the people with their material and natural environment determine the basis for research, as well as the interaction of social groups which are influenced by society and its political framework. Subject of our research are the foundations for planning processes within society, as well as their evaluation.
