The EFI recommends the German government to placee R&I policy at the centre of its action

In the lead article of the current "Wirtschaftsdienst", the Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation (EFI) shows what urgently needs to be done now to strengthen the German research and innovation system.

The recommendations are as follows:

  •   pursue the new mission orientation consistently and across ministries
  •    tailor ministries appropriately
  •    speed up  the digital transformation of public administration
  •     systematically evaluate and strategically prioritise R&I activities
  •     take a holistic approach to knowledge and technology transfer
  •     link civil and military research better.
