Matthias Hügel joined the International Centre for Higher Education Research (INCHER) and the Department of Economic Policy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Kassel in April 2023 as a research associate.
He completed his Bachelor's degree in Business Education at the University of Mannheim in 2016, followed by a Master's degree in International Economy and Business at Andrássy University Budapest, which he completed in 2018. From 2018 to 2023, Matthias Hügel worked as a research associate at the Chair of Microeconomics at Friedrich Schiller University Jena.
His research interests include the Economics of Innovation, Economics of Science and Regional Economics. In the course of his doctorate, Matthias Hügel is investigating the processes of knowledge and technology transfer between universities, research institutions and the industrial sector.
