Project A3
Study and control of the coupled electron-nuclear motion in chiral molecules with femtosecond resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization and photoelectron spectroscopy
On chiral molecular prototypes, we will
1.) perform experiments on coherent control of photoelectron circular dichroism (PECD): we will realize a double-slit experiment via two excitation pathways to create interference in the PECD of fenchone. Ultimately, we will use our ability to tailor a white light continuum in phase and amplitude to coherently control PECD on heavier fenchone derivatives.
2.) study PECD from extended electron distributions: statically in triangulanes and dynamically using molecular Rydberg wave packets as space-dependent probes.
