Course content:
- General aspects of metallic materials (crystal structure, microstructure, mechanical properties, hardening/deformation mechanisms).
- Approaches/techniques for the characterization of micro/nanostructures.
- Applications of nanostructures in metallic materials, application examples.
- Overview of the fundamentals of nanostructured metallic materials and typical applications of nanostructures in modern metallic materials.
- Knowledge of the relationships between chemistry, process, nano-/microstructure and properties of modern metallic materials.
- Knowledge of the current state of the art in terms of design, characterization approaches, optimization and application in structural materials with case studies.
