Course: Materials Engineering 1
Lecturer
- Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Benoit Merle
- Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Niendorf
Learning objectives
Students are taught to understand the basic concepts of materials science, especially the fundamental relationships between microstructure and properties.
They have become familiar with the different classes of materials, and can select materials based on application requirements and assess which parameters are relevant to fulfill simple specifications.
Students understand the role of materials in modern engineering. They are also sensitized to fundamental material-related aspects of sustainability.
