MecaNano General Meeting 2024
From May 1st to 3rd, 2024, our research group participated in the annual MecaNano General Meeting, hosted at the historic building of TU Wien.
The MecaNano General Meeting brought together approximately 120 leading experts from across Europe to discuss the latest research findings and future trends in the mechanical behavior of nanostructured materials. Notably, the event featured presentations by renowned speakers, including:
- Jürgen Stampfl – Institute of Materials Science and Technology, TU Wien
- Anna Kareer – Department of Materials, Oxford University
- Sandrine Brochard – Department of Physics and Mechanics of Materials, University of Poitiers
- Zhuocheng Xie – Institute for Physical Metallurgy and Materials Science, RWTH Aachen
- Péter Dusán Ispánovity – Department of Materials Physics, Eötvös University
Dr. M.T. Abba and M.Sc. M. Stoll had the privilege of presenting our research on high-speed nanoindentation on behalf of our research group. Their presentation and poster received positive feedback and sparked engaging discussions with fellow participants.
In addition to the scientific program, the conference offered valuable networking opportunities, including a delightful conference dinner at a traditional Viennese Heuriger, allowing participants to enjoy Vienna's rich cultural offerings.
Participating in the MecaNano General Meeting 2024 was an enriching experience for our team, providing an excellent platform to exchange knowledge, renew old contacts, and establish new ones.
The “European Network for the Mechanics of Matter at the Nano-Scale” (MecaNano), which was initiated by Benoit Merle, is a European Cooperation in Science & Technology (COST) Action funded under Horizon Europe (2022-2026).
