PhD defense
Big congratulations to Dr. Sebastian Krauß on successfully defending his Ph.D. on February 19, 2025! His dissertation, “Deformation Mechanisms of Nanolamellar Materials Based on Micromechanical and Microtribological Characterization,” explored the fatigue behavior of nanolayered copper laminates and the tribological behavior of MoS2 coatings processed for space applications.
Dr. Krauß was part of Prof. Merle’s group at FAU Erlangen, where he contributed significantly to the field. Now, he’s taking on new challenges in his role at Zeiss in Oberkochen.
