IfW at the "Technik zum Anfassen" fair for children and young people

On September 29, 2024, the "Technik zum Anfassen" trade fair took place for the 11th time on the campus of the vocational schools and Johannisberg School in Witzenhausen. With around 60 exhibitors, the fair is the largest children's and youth event for science and technology in North Hesse. At the University of Kassel's STEM Hub stand, visitors young and old were able to race on a Carrera track with a drive specially made by IfW scientists over electrically conductive smart plastic training strips. Another highlight was the 3D printer, which produced small dinosaurs live, which the children and young people could take away as giveaways.

Pupils, students, teachers and parents were able to try out, touch and marvel at a variety of hands-on experiments and exhibits to their heart's content at the well-attended exhibition grounds and also find out about the wide range of commercial and scientific/technical apprenticeships, dual study, training and further education opportunities in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology.
