Parallel Algorithms
In the seminar "Parallel Algorithms", participants present individual algorithms or classes of algorithms with parallel aspects in mind.
Topics covered include:
- Simplifying approaches in parallelization (Google's MapReduce).
- Metaheuristic methods (Ant and Genetic Algorithms)
- Graph-theoretic algorithms (search trees, shortest paths)
- Classical approaches for new application areas (sorting and string algorithms)
In addition, participants can propose their own topics. To do so, please send an email to Michael Lesniak (mlesniak@uni-kassel.de) at least one week before the preliminary meeting, indicating the topic and literature.
Participants
Students of the diploma, bachelor or master program from the 5th semester and other interested persons.
