1. data protection regulations
The regulations on data protection are observed in the context of the surveys of the research project ErfolgInklusiv.
The basis for data processing is your informed, voluntary consent, which can be revoked at any time, in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a DSGVO.

Your personal data will be processed for the purpose of participating in and conducting the above-mentioned research project of the University of Kassel. For information, please refer to the description of the research project.
Categories of personal data processed are: Email address, socio-demographic data, information on current studies, study success, applications for examination modification, utilization of counseling services, receipt of social benefits, health insurance, health literacy, health promotion, degree of inclusion, social support, education and training history, and study progress.
Special categories of personal data: Health data and health behavior.
The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 UAbs.1 a) GDPR. If special categories of personal data are involved, the data we collect will be processed on the basis of your explicit consent pursuant to Art. 9 (2) a) GDPR.
Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties.
The data collected during the study will be kept for nine years after completion of the study and subsequently deleted in 2033 at the latest. The verifiability of the data is part of research according to the rules of good scientific practice.
Processing of your personal data for the purpose of automated decision making (including profiling) according to Art. 22 (1) GDPR does not take place.
Right of withdrawal in case of consent
You have the right to revoke your consent at any time to the named contact person for the future, unless the data has already been anonymized. The legality of the data processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the revocation is not affected by this.
Exception: In the case of printed works, consent can no longer be revoked once the print order has been placed.
Your further rights
You can exercise the following rights at any time vis-à-vis the named contact person or our data protection officers:
- Information about your data stored by us and its processing,
- Correction of incorrect personal data,
- deletion of the personal data concerning you, provided that the conditions for deletion are fulfilled
- Restriction of data processing, if we are not yet allowed to delete your data due to legal obligations,
- Objection to the processing of your data by us.
Right of complaint
Finally, you have the right to complain to the competent supervisory authority in the event of data protection-related problems.

2. background information on the project ErfolgInklusiv
The research project "ErfolgInklusiv" is a project financially supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) (BMBF/DLR FKZ: 01PX21016). The aim of the project is to investigate the academic success of students with chronic illnesses and disabilities, using the University of Kassel as an example, and to analyze the effectiveness, in particular, of disadvantage compensation in examinations, psychosocial counseling, health promotion, disability-related social services and social networks of students on academic success or dropout. The research purpose is in the public interest. The project period ends on 31.08.2024.
