CV  (Eva Herzig)

Eva Herzig was born in Switzerland and studied vocal pedagogy at the Hochschule der Künste in Bern after graduating from high school. She then studied opera singing solo in Leipzig, graduating with distinction.

After stage engagements in Biel and in Sirnach (Rosalinde) and a permanent position at the PH NMS in Bern, she joined the Opera Choir of the Zurich Opera House for one season in 2004.

Since 2006 Eva Herzig has been living with her family in Hanover and is now mainly active in the concert field, but also enjoys performing programs with pieces of the light muse and UFA-Schlagern.

In 2007 she received a teaching position for singing at the HMTM Hannover and has always taught a full deputation since then.

Until 2017 she was a member of the Gächinger Kantorei, where she was able to get to know many wonderful pieces of choral literature.

With the CAS "Singstimme - Fehlfunktionen erkennen, abbauen und vermeiden" (Singing Voice - Recognizing, Reducing and Avoiding Dysfunctions) at the Hochschule der Künste in Bern, she updated her knowledge in voice physiology, voice research and today's popular teaching methods on the one hand, and on the other hand learned how to deal with the voice in the area where vocal pedagogy and speech therapy overlap.

With the further education "Pedagogy of Popular Singing" of the BDG, Eva Herzig received an update in 2018/19 in current voice physiology, in current singing methods (e.g. CVT) and learned about didactics and language adapted to popular music. She gratefully incorporates all of these experiences into her classical teaching and now feels quite capable of teaching music of any genre.

Since October 2019, she has been employed at the Institute of Music at the University of Kassel as a vocal teacher and gives private lessons in all courses of study. In addition, once a week in the "Workshop Performance" she offers all students of the Institute the opportunity to sing with accompaniment in the concert hall and provides advice and support.

Together with her colleague, she has set up the "Musizierstunde" format in 2021. Here, students from all classes have the opportunity at the end of the semester to perform in concert format and thus gain stage experience and routine for later exams.

In addition, Eva Herzig is also involved in self-administration and is currently working in the "AG Modulprüfungsordnungen".

She is always ready to listen to students who have questions about the voice department.
