Gender structures all areas of our society. Gender research asks about the significance of the category gender for the social order of a society, about inequalities in gender relations or about the construction, appropriation and shifting of gender difference. The analyses and social scientific approaches of gender studies contain an exciting interdisciplinary field.

The lecture is an interdisciplinary course of an introductory nature to various theoretical perspectives in gender studies. The lectures are accompanied by a tutorial in which in-depth texts are discussed, which are made available in a Moodle course .
