Information on registering for the oral and written examinations in German for L1, L2, L3 from the 2025 fall campaign (changes July 2024)
The selection or assignment of examiners for the First State Examination for German will take place via a Moodle course from the fall 2025 campaign.
Those who already have confirmations from examiners for fall 2025 will be transferred to the Moodle course. Please check independently whether you are already registered and get in touch with your preferred examiner if you cannot find one.
Please note that, in the interests of fairness, you should withdraw yourself as soon as you can foresee that you will not be able to take the exam as planned.
The course for the oral exams is called "Anmeldung Mündliche Examensprüfung Herbst 2025".
The self-registration option will be available from October 1, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
You will choose two examiners for the oral exam: one exam iner for the literature section and one examiner for the language section.
The examiners are selected using the group selection procedure. There are a limited number of exam places per examiner; if your preferred examiner is already occupied, you can choose another person with whom there are still places available.
The course for the written exam is called "Registration for written exam fall 2025". The self-registration option will be available from October 1, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
If you decide to take a written exam in German, please select an examiner.
The examination topics will be discussed at a later date in close consultation with your examiners. It will also be discussed in which part of the exam didactic components are included.
If all the places in the desired area are taken, select yourself from the "Language waiting list" or "Literature waiting list".
If you meet all the requirements for the exam, you have the right to take the exam in the desired period, but the Institute of German Studies cannotguarantee you your preferred examiner.
