About us
We are the Doctoral Program in Humanities, GeKKo for short, at Faculty 02.
The GeKKo is an offer for structured supervision of doctoral candidates, which complements the subject-specific supervision by the individual professors in a decisive way. The central function of the group is to train doctoral students and other early career researchers in how to organize their individual and joint teaching and research projects (e.g. the IAG Climate Thinking) in the context of methodologically and thematically related subjects and to have them critically evaluated. To this end, the college meets once a semester at external conferences once a semester. The venue for the joint exchange is the Evangelische Tagungsstätte in Hofgeismar.
The GeKKo's core task is to support doctoral students. This also means that interested students can take part in our events at the end of their studies to find out about the doctoral phase. The GeKKo sees itself as an institution that supports academics in the qualification phase. It is therefore open to postdocs and researchers who are seeking qualifications beyond the doctorate (e.g. a habilitation).
