Teresa Weißert is reseach assistant in the section Art and Economies. Her research encompasses artistic practices in rural areas and their socio-economic conditions, as well as theories on emancipatory rurality. Additionally, she is interested in textile theories and the socio-political embeddedness of textile practices. Her research approach is based on the integration of scientific discourses and her findings from her field research, as well as from her own socio-cultural practice in rural regions of northern Hesse with the KOMPOST Ensemble e.V.

Teresa Weißert is a researcher in the project 'Artistic practices of care and their transformative potential for rural areas', which is funded by the Hessian Ministry of Higher Education, Research and the Arts as part of the research programme 'Dimensions of the category of gender - women's and gender studies in Hesse'. The project is an ethnographic and art theoretical investigation of the artistic practice of female* artists in rural areas of northern Hesse. It will examine whether and how they engage with emancipatory, social and ecological issues in their region, and how their practice can be located within a contemporary art context.
