Dr Gökhan Demir is currently a research fellow at the University of Kassel, Department of Political Science - Political Theory. He received his PhD from Yıldız Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 2013. He worked at the same university before being dismissed from his position in April 2017 for being a signatory of the Academics for Peace petition. From 2021 to 2022, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Florence, Department of Political and Social Sciences. Subsequently, he held a postdoctoral researcher position at the department of Political Science, Law and International Studies, University of Padova from 2022 to 2023. His research interests include contemporary social theory, political philosophy, and Turkish politics.
