E-learning in sports science

On August 17, 2010, the Sports Institute will be represented as part of the project HeLPs ? Hessian E-Learning Projects in Sports Science ? at the specialist forum at the University of Giessen. Prof. Dr. Armin Kibele (Biomechanical Movement Analysis in Sport) as well as Dr. Andreas Albert and Prof. Dr. Volker Scheid (Good-Practice-Methods of Educational Physical Education) will speak about research projects of the Sport Institute. The specialist forum E-Learning in Sports Science offers an insight into the research activities at the sports science institutions at the Hessian universities.

The HeLPS project(www.helps-hessen.de), which was launched in 2006, is currently in its third project phase and is supported by the Hessian sports institutes. The project partners are focusing on the goal of sustainably anchoring e-learning courses in sports teacher training.

The Institute of Sport and Sport Science at the University of Kassel is currently developing and evaluating two new contents based on the current Hessian sports curricula for the movement fields 'Playing' and 'Moving in water' and introducing them into sports teacher training.

The event will be recorded and broadcast live. The broadcast room can be reached at http://connect1.hrz.uni-giessen.de/ff_els/. The broadcast will start on August 17 shortly before 10:00 am.
