The department “Theory and Practical Issues in Sports” accommodates for the relevance of connecting theory and practice within the didactic modules.
The educational structure is, in terms of content and methodology, oriented at pedagogical perspectives. The acquaintance of various athletic skills and sport related knowledge is in the focus of teaching. One´s own athletic experience facilitates understanding, explaining, demonstrating, observing, creating and correcting of movements. It is likewise the basis for integrating knowledge and skills and is therefore an arrangement of practical sport studies, sport science and school related practice which leads to a well-grounded educational training and job related competence. The interdisciplinary process of forming theories is an enrichment to the direct experience of one´s own athletic actions.
