Converting and extending existing buildings is the order of the day. Two different examples illustrate the possibilities and challenges: On the one hand, the projects by StudioAndree Weißert for the ambitious design company TECTA with its buildings by Alison and Peter Smithson in Lauenförde. On the other hand, the public sector as a client with a tight budget, illustrated by a large post-war administrative building, the K-wing of Kassel City Hall.
