Conserve Plant

Conserve Plant-Project (COST-Action der EU)

Although plants are essential to our lives, we know very little about the biology of the rarest and most threatened plant species, and even less about their conservation status. Rapid environmental and climatic changes, now more pronounced than ever, are affecting their fitness and distribution, leading to rapid species declines. Despite strict conservation goals to protect endangered plants, endangered species conservation initiatives are scattered across Europe and have not produced the desired results. The main objective of this action is to improve plant conservation in Europe by building a network of scientists/researchers and other stakeholders involved in various aspects of plant conservation, from plant taxonomy, ecology, conservation genetics, conservation physiology, and reproductive biology to managers of protected areas, not forgetting social scientists who are crucial for public education and communication.
