Teaching content of the animal breeding part:

a) History of animal breeding, i.e. development of domestic animals and livestock breeds

b) Structure, transmission and effect of hereditary traits

c) Genetics of quantitative traits, i.e. population parameters, breeding value estimation, selection, recording and evaluation of traits

d) Biotechnology, i.e. artificial insemination, embryo transfer, genome analysis, gene transfer

e) Applied breeding, i.e. breeding methods, breeding planning

f) Cattle and pig breeding, i.e. parentage, domestication and development of cattle and pigs, breeds

g) Evaluation of breeding animals on the basis of conformation and performance

h) reproductive biology principles and reproduction management, breeding planning and practical breeding operations as well as quality of animal products.
