Anna Maria Bissinger recently took over the Biohöfle Mertingen farm from her parents and runs a dairy and arable farm, paying particular attention to nature conservation.
The jury was particularly impressed by the broad positioning of the full-time farm in market production, direct marketing and landscape conservation and the combination of livestock farming and arable farming, which is important for a functioning nutrient cycle. The award recognizes the exceptional achievements in species conservation, especially in the protection of meadow and field breeders such as the lapwing. The farm is presented in the linked video.
