Equality is part of the profile of the University of Kassel and is also part of the self-image of the Department of Organic Agricultural Sciences. The fundamental goal is to further anchor equality as a cross-cutting issue in the department and thus minimize the unequal treatment of different groups of people. In accordance with the University of Kassel's equality plan, the department understands equality to mean efforts to create equal opportunities for all employees and students, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, marital status, nationality and physical and mental limitations.
