Insights into the production of cement and cement additives
The Department of Construction Materials and Construction Chemistry organized a student excursion with the aim of gaining an insight into the production of cement and cement additive granulated blast furnace slag. The group, consisting of civil and environmental engineers, visited the Holcim cement plant at the Höver/Sehnde site and the Holcim blast furnace granulation plant at the Salzgitter AG site on May 23 as part of the interdepartmental excursion week. We would like to thank Holcim for the opportunity to visit the plant and especially Dr. Jesko Gerlach (fourth from left in the picture) for his support on site!
