On April 30, a 15-member DAAD student group from Colombia visited the University of Kassel. The group of civil engineers from the University of Cauca, Popayán received an overview of the University of Kassel and the study opportunities within the Summer and Winter University by the International Office. After a campus tour and lunch, Dean and Department Head Prof. Middendorf welcomed the group. He introduced Department 14 and the department with study and research opportunities. Prof. Obando, leader of the Colombian group, reported with his students about Colombia in general and specifically about the University of Cauca. This was followed by an informative tour of the materials laboratories, the Central Clamping Field and the Hydraulic Engineering Hall. After a farewell, the visit of the very nice and open-minded group from Colombia came to an end.
