Prof. Middendorf was a guest at Sharda University in Greater Noida, which is located an hour's drive south of New Delhi in India, from 20 - 26 May 2023. Besides discussions with colleagues, he gave a course with six sessions on "High performance concretes and their applications" for students, PhD students and post-docs.

On May 24, 2023, Prof. Middendorf also met with representatives of the fourth largest cement manufacturer, UltraTech, in Mumbai, where he also spoke about the Kassel-based developments on ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) and the European approach to_{CO2 reduction in} cement production.

It was impressive to witness the dedication with which the scientists of the world's most populous country are working on solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
