Desired learning outcomes 

Knowledge of the empirical and computational dimensioning of traffic route pavements, taking into account the properties of the construction materials used and the locally acting stresses from traffic and climate.

Content 

• Material models for the calculation of stresses in traffic route pavements
• Calculated dimensioning taking into account the properties of the building materials and the effects of traffic and weathering
• Practical implementation in the construction contract
• Benefits and limitations of computational dimensioning

Examination services

• Report on the result of an independently performed computational dimensioning (40 %)
• Written or oral examination (60 %)
