Toolbox Public Transport

Intraplan Consult GmbH and the Department of Transport Planning and Systems at the University of Kassel have developed a guideline and a "Toolbox ÖPNV" for planning and evaluating public transport service strategies in rural areas for the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure as part of the research project "Mobility and service strategies in rural areas: Options for action by public transport authorities and transport companies with special consideration of economic aspects of flexible service forms".

The guide and the toolbox ÖPNV are made available to all interested users free of charge. The guide is available as Download at the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV) in the section "Passenger Transport - Expert Information - Environment, Operation & Technology" under "Planning Guide "Mobility and Service Strategies in Rural Areas" with Toolbox ÖPNV".

The Toolbox ÖPNV consists of the following components:

• FlexPlan - Estimation of passenger demand of flexible public transport services in rural areas.
• AWirFlex - Estimation of the economic viability of flexible public transport services.
• SimFlex - Simulation of classic and flexible forms of public transport services
• Excel template for evaluation

The Toolbox ÖPNV can be used via a form from the VDV.
