Further development of the FE² method for continuum and structural models

This project deals with the concept of homogenization and the further development of the FE2 method. Homogenization is a process for deriving macroscopic properties from microscopic structures and meets the challenge of complex material behaviour in engineering applications. Based on the fundamental principles of homogenization, the project investigates how the efficiency and accuracy of the FE2 method can be improved. The project therefore deals with the theoretical foundations, the practical implementation and the application of the FE2 method.
