Welcome - Engineering Internship

The professional internship (engineering internship of 12 weeks) is usually completed during the main course of study after the 5th semester(in the 6th semester). A prerequisite for admission to the BPS is proof of the required basic study certificates (4 out of 5). Professional activities completed before the degree course are not taken into account.

Organizational and content-related support is provided by the Department of Practical Studies. Training contracts, verification forms etc. and detailed information on choosing a suitable practical placement are available during office hours.

During the practical work placement, a BPS report must be prepared or a presentation given on a topic related to the practical work placement. The BPS work is supervised by the professor. As a rule, the supervising professor must be chosen before the start of the internship. A discussion about the BPS and the required BPS work must be held with the supervisor before the start of the internship. Grading is carried out by the supervising professor of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Kassel.

A separate certificate is issued for completion of the professional internship studies.
