Welcome - Engineering Internship

The Professional Practical Studies (engineering internship of 12 weeks) are usually completed during the main course of study after the 5th semester(in the 6th semester). Admission condition to the BPS is the proof of the required basic study certificates (4 out of 5). Professional activities performed prior to the study program will not be credited.

The organizational and content-related support is provided by the Department for Professional Practical Studies. Training contracts, verification forms, etc. and detailed information on the choice of a suitable internship site are available during office hours.

During the Professional Practical Studies, a BPS report must be prepared or a presentation given on a topic related to the professional practical activity. The BPS paper is supervised by the professor. The choice of the supervising professor must normally be made before the start of the internship. A discussion about the BPS and the required BPS work must be held with the supervisor prior to the start of the internship. The grading is done by the supervising professor of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Kassel.

A separate certificate is issued for completion of the professional internship studies.
