Prof. Dr. habil. Hans-Peter Fink Fraunhofer-Institute for Applied Polymer Research, Kassel Institut für Werkstofftechnik, Kassel Prof. Fink is the Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research in Potsdam-Golm and at the same time a Honorary Professor at the University of Kassel. There is a long standing cooperation with the Chair of Plastics Technology (Institut für Werkstofftechnik) in the field of advanced biobased materials. The main personal activities are in the field of technical polymers, in particular biopolymers including fibres, films, nonwovens from cellulose, thermoplastic polymers like PLA, PHA, starch and cellulose derivatives, as well as biobased composites. Process and product developments are supported by thermoanalytical methods, solid state structural characterization (WAXS, SAXS, SEM, TEM, 13C-CP/MAS-NMR) and materials testing methods. At the University of Kassel he is teaching about structural characterization of biobased polymers including an overview of the state of the art of technical biopolymers, an introduction of the solid state structure and characterization methods of polymers (electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, NMR-spectroscopy). » Back to Who is Who |
