Photon-mediated chiral interactions for enantiomer detection and separation
We study interactions of photons with chiral molecules on the basis of macroscopic quantum electrodynamics. This allows us to predict to what extent the resulting forces as well as energy dissipation and transfer phenomena depend of the handedness of a molecule. Such discriminatory effects shall be used to distinguish and separate enantiomers. They can be enhanced or even induced by magnetodielectric environments.
