Climate protection and labor law

With Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Däubler (University of Bremen) &
Carsten
Büchling (Chairman of the Works Council at the VW plant in Kassel-Baunatal)

Moderation: Prof. Dr. Isabell Hensel (University of Kassel)

Climate protection is one of the key issues of our time. The duty to preserve the natural foundations of life and the integrity of future generations imposes duties of protection on legislators that potentially affect the entire legal system, as the Federal Constitutional Court stated in the so-called Climate Decision of March 24, 2021. It is obvious that employment law is also covered by this. Wolfgang Däubler presents his latest study on the topic and we discuss its findings based on the experiences of works councils from the region.
