Overview
The International Center for Development and Decent Work (ICDD) offers scholarships for Master students, PhD students and PostDocs from the following research areas:
- Decent work along agricultural value chains
- Organizing the informal economy
- Extractivism and rural welfare
- Rural-urban linkages: transformation processes, livelihoods and social protection
- Rethinking Development Cooperation
- Or other Decent work related topics
What We Offer

The grants can be awarded to
Students from DAC countries at German universities
Students from DAC countries at universities from DAC countries
The scholarships cover 4-6 months, depending on the type of scholarship. The scholarship starts 01st of April 2021. Depending on the country of your university, different scholarship rates apply.
Alumni Research Grant | For Alumni of the GLU network to support research projects in their career fields. |
MA Final Exam Scholarship | For students in Germany from DAC countries/students at universities in DAC countries in financial difficulties during the period of the master thesis |
PhD Final Exam Scholarship | For students in Germany from DAC countries/students at universities in DAC countries in financial difficulties during the period of the PhD thesis |
PostDoc Scholarship | For PhD in Germany from DAC country/PhDs at universities in DAC countries whose PhD graduation was within the last two years |
