Abstract
The number of biogas plants in Germany continues to rise. However, it is assumed, that due to aging, technical defects and design defects gas leaks (esp. Methane) occur. The increasing emissions of climate-relevant greenhouse gases require the development of new measurement systems that allow to quantify the amount of gas escaping through leaks with remote sensing in an easy way and in a timely manner. To this end, a prototype of a portable leak mass flow remote sensing system for methane with integrated data evaluation should be developed and demonstrated.
Within the project a prototype remote sensing system is created and the necessary evaluation processes are developed at the Department of Measurement and Control.
