Measuring Technology
In the field of metrology, the focus of work is on the research and development of theoretical and experimental methods for the (partially) automated investigation of objects and infrastructure facilities with remote measurement methods in defined or changing environments. These include problems such as the thermographic mapping of production facilities or the detection and location of gas leaks in industrial plants from a safe distance using optical remote measurement systems. For this purpose, measurement methods, methods of measurement data acquisition and acquisition, sensor data fusion and the automatic evaluation and evaluation of measurement values are considered.
The focus is on measurement arrangements with small and medium distances (up to around 50 m between the measurement system and the measurement object), such as those found in industrial plants. Of particular interest are portable measuring systems that are also suitable for use on mobile robots. The focus of the work is in the areas of mobile service robotics, automotive and energy and production systems.
