Journey to Kassel
Thanks to its central location in Germany, the city of Kassel can be reached quickly from all directions. There is a well-developed public transport network, particularly in the city center.
Travel by bus and train
The ICE train station Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe is located on numerous north-south and east-west local and long-distance connections and is also served by FlixBus.
If you arrive in Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe, take streetcar line 1 (Vellmar) or bus line 52 (Sandershausen) or 100 (Calden Airport) to the stop Holländischer Platz/Universität. These will take you directly to the university campus.
If you arrive in Kassel by local transport at the main station, you can choose between the RT1 regional streetcar (Holländische Straße) and buses 30 (Hann. Münden), 52 (Sandershausen) and 110 (Holländischer Platz).

Arriving by car
Kassel is easy to reach via the A5, A7, A44 and A49 highways. Frequent connections include:
- A 7 Flensburg - Hamburg - Kassel - Frankfurt/Würzburg
- A 44 Cologne / Dortmund - Kassel - (Eisenach) - Erfurt
- A 49 Kassel - Marburg / Gießen
There are also several Park & Ride parking lots in and around Kassel, from which you can reach the campus by public transport.
Accommodation
Kassel has a wide selection of hotels and other accommodation options. Even close to campus you have a few options to choose from to have a good stay in Kassel.
With its location directly on Holländische Strasse, the Novostar Hotel is practically opposite the university. It is easy to reach by public transport from both Kassel train stations. The Novostar Hotel offers 2-star quality rooms and a breakfast buffet.
The Marstall-Apartmenthaus is located in the center of Kassel and is about a 10-15 minute walk from the "Holländischer Platz" campus. Here you also have good public transport connections. At Marstall you can choose between individual rooms or furnished apartments.
The B&B Hotel is located just outside the city center near the A7, A49 and A44 freeways and is well suited for those arriving by car. It is about 5 minutes by car or 15-20 minutes on foot from the university.
