Rooted in tradition - open to the future: Murhard Library opens with new reading rooms and spacious exhibition space

Flooded with light and gleaming with gold, combining old and new, the new building and historic head building of the Murhardsche Bibliothek library present themselves. The Murhard Library, which has been extensively renovated since 2017 and is prominently located on the "Kassel Museum Island", is celebrating a significant milestone.

After years of restrictions and a five-week complete closure, the 55,000 readers of the "University Library, State Library and Murhard Library of the City of Kassel" will once again be able to use the new premises during regular opening hoursfrom November 20, 2024 .

In addition, the Murhard Library and State Library invite all interested parties to an "Open Day" on November 23, 2024 from 10 am to 3 pm.
