As part of the Kassel University Library, the MURHARDSCHE, as it is affectionately called by the people of Kassel, is particularly open to the citizens of the city and the region. Centrally located at Brüder-Grimm-Platz and easily accessible by public transport, it forms a central interface between cultural life and knowledge transfer in the region with its wide range of printed and electronic media.

New in 2023: Book table on selected topics

New year, new luck... at regular intervals, books on specific, current social topics are made available on a book table at the Brüder-Grimm-Platz.

Historical place of learning

The building at Brüder-Grimm-Platz houses the Murhard Library and the State Library under one roof. As the 'most historic' location of the UB, it offers the atmosphere of a classical library in addition to the modern infrastructure.
