Abstract
This letter considers a class of fault detection problems for discrete-time piecewise-affine (PWA) systems. Inspired by the state-of-the-art of set-membership methods to estimate the state of PWA systems, a novel detection method based on zonotopes and over-approximation of sets is proposed to overcome high computational complexity caused by unknown discrete states. The efficiency and high accuracy of detection of the new method is confirmed through both theoretical analysis and numerical examples.
