Pre-Semester German Courses for International and Exchange / Erasmus Students
Course Information
Our preliminary courses are primarily aimed at international students at the University of Kassel and exchange students who will be starting their studies at the University of Kassel.
The courses offer participants at levels A1, A2 and B1 the opportunity to prepare for their stay at the University of Kassel or to improve their German, learn about student life in Germany and meet interesting people before the start of the semester .
The courses comprise 40 teaching units of 45 minutes each in the classroom and on excursions as well as additional preparation and follow-up work at home. Skills (reading, writing, speaking) are practiced during the course. Special emphasis is placed on training in everyday communication situations in Germany and at a German university.
After active participation in class and an attendance rate of at least 75%, the course concludes with an oral and written examination.
Successful participants will receive a certificate of attendance with 4 ECTS points and a grade. The certificate of attendance entitles you to register for a semester-long German course at the same language level.
A language level certificate is not linked to the course.
Please note the data protection regulations for your personal data.
During the semester , the Language Center offers further German language courses with 8 ECTS each at the language levels A1-C1. Please find the registration dates on the Language Center homepage (Deutsch IM Semester).
