The professorship of the department has been held by Prof. Dr. Ina Kaul since October 2024. The current focus of the department is on research and teaching with a focus on social work and education. Teaching focuses in particular on topics and issues relating to the educational foundations of social work, inpatient child and youth work and social pedagogical professionalism.
