Prof. Dr. Claudia Finkbeiner was Head of the Department of Foreign Language Teaching and Learning Research & Intercultural Communication at the Institute of English/American Studies at the University of Kassel from 1998 to 2023. Since 2006, she has been the president of the Association for Language Awarenessand since 2022 Committee Member of the Research Committee of the Literacy Research Association.
