Fulda

Project Bathing Prohibition

Would you like to swim in the Fulda? Would you like to experience the Fulda more intensively? Do you see a lot of potential in attractive places to stay?

We addressed these and other questions in the our project and developed solutions. In many cities, streams play a central role in local recreation. Historically, the Fulda was also a public bathing water and therefore a place of recreation. This use was abandoned in the course of water pollution. In the meantime, the use of the Fulda as a recreational and bathing water body is playing an increasingly important role in the public debate. The objectives and results of the project were to determine the basis for different uses of the water, to identify different locations — such as bathing areas, recreational areas, natural areas — and to derive potential development opportunities.

The project is being carried out on the basis of and in cooperation with the City of Kassel's Fulda Concept, which is already underway. The smartphone app created as part of the project can be found here.
